Meditation For Beginners

How to meditate for beginners

One of the best parts of meditation for beginners is that you don’t have to join a healing center. But, you can meditate in the comfort of your home or find a quiet place outside. So, start by finding a peaceful place in your home without any distractions of noise and other activities. Use any large sofa or chair to meditate where you can sit in a comfortable posture with your legs crossed. Alternatively, you can sit on a carpet or exercise mat.

Begin by forgetting about all your upcoming appointments and engagements. Disconnect yourself from the outer world and focus solely on your own self while listening to your soul. Close your eyes and shut off all the other receivers that distract you. From the moment you close your eyes, you are moving one step closer to your inner self. By saving your energy and dedicating it to your meditation, it releases a new sense of unveiling from your deep down realities.

Firstly, focus on what your soul shows you, while you try to bring peace to yourself. Secondly, continue by examining the thoughts that come through your mind and pay attention to your mental activities. The thoughts that you pushed to subconscious starts to clarify and become more explicable. Lastly, indulge your thoughts into some kind of rhyme by for example using a Sanskrit verse. A popular Sanskrit verse is: ‘amaram hum madhuram hum’, which reinforces bliss and immortality.

After the meditation

It’s important that you don’t end your meditation session too abruptly. Like when you finish exercising where you stretch your muscle out. Similarly, this spiritual process should have a slow ending where you, for example, touch your face with your hands to provide warmth. You can also take a few minutes to reflect on your meditation session before going back to the real world.

Meditation is especially good to practice in the beginning and end of the day. So, remember to make it part of your daily routine and try to do it twice a day, at least in the beginning. The biggest challenge in meditation for beginners is to get started, so take the first step today!
